Hana by NinjaXJob

The AI copilot for your job interviews and assessments

Hana is a native Mac app that listens to your Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet call, writes a live transcript, and answers the interviewer's questions using your resume, in about a second, with one hotkey.

On your screen. Not on theirs.

Press ⌥⌘N and ninja mode floats a translucent answer panel over your call. Screen sharing and recordings leave it out, so the interviewer sees your screen without Hana.

A video interview: the interviewer and you, with your entire screen being shared Hana's ninja mode overlay over the call: the live transcript, a quick answer about designing a rate limiter drawn from the resume, and the hotkey list

Ninja mode is on: the answer sits over the call, and clicks pass through it.

Both views are real captures of the same call. For the second, the overlay was open on screen, and macOS left it out of the capture, just as Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet do when you share your screen.

Every feature, in a real call

An online assessment showing the Merge Intervals problem, with Hana's overlay below it giving the approach, complexity, and a Java solution

Screenshot solver

Press ⌥⌘S and drag over the problem. Hana reads it and answers with the approach, the complexity, and code in your language. Coding, SQL, system design, multiple choice, or reading tasks.

Hana's main window: the interviewer asks to tell about yourself, and Hana shows the prepared answer from the question bank

Your question bank, word for word

Import prepared answers from Excel. When a question comes up, even reworded or in another language, Hana shows your own answer instead of a generated one. One click asks the AI instead.

Hana's main window with three suggested follow-up questions about the rate limiter design, each with why to ask it and what a good answer sounds like

Smart follow-ups

⌥⌘F suggests questions to ask back, why each one lands, and what a good answer sounds like, tied to your own experience.

Hana's Explain card breaking down what the interviewer is asking and the key terms to know

Explain what was just said

⌥⌘E breaks down the question and the terms behind it, and flags anything inaccurate, so you never lose the thread.

Hana translating the interviewer's question and its answer into Vietnamese in real time

Real-time translation

Answers stream in your language with a translation underneath, and any line of the transcript translates with one click. English and Vietnamese, for the meeting and for the answers separately.

Hana's Profiles settings: a Backend Engineer interview profile with its job description and custom instructions, plus IELTS and AWS assessment profiles

Custom context for every call

One profile per job or exam: its goal (Interview or Assessment), the job description or test details, and your own instructions for how answers should sound.

Everything you need during a live call

Live transcript, on your Mac

Both sides of the call, labelled Me and Them. English runs on-device with Whisper large-v3-turbo on the Neural Engine; it handles accents and technical terms. No screen recording, no meeting bot.

Instant answers from your resume

Press ⌥⌘A and Hana answers the latest question as concise bullets, drawing on the most relevant project in the resume you uploaded, plus what strong answers also cover.

Screenshot solver

Press ⌥⌘S, select a region, and get the answer: coding problems with approach, complexity, and solution; SQL; debugging; system design; multiple choice; reading and writing tasks.

Follow-ups and explanations

⌥⌘F suggests smart questions to ask back. ⌥⌘E explains the concepts just discussed and flags anything inaccurate.

Profiles for every interview

Keep one profile per job or exam, each with its goal (Interview or Assessment), job description, context, and custom instructions.

Your own question bank

Import prepared answers from an Excel sheet. Hana matches questions by meaning, even reworded or in another language, and shows your answer word for word.

Ninja mode overlay

A compact, translucent overlay docked to any screen edge, driven entirely by global hotkeys so your meeting app stays in front.

English and Vietnamese

Pick the meeting language and the answer language separately, with automatic translation of answers and one-click translation of any transcript line.

Learn after every call

When the meeting ends, Hana saves the full transcript and every answer as a Markdown file you can review and learn from.

How it works

  1. Download and install

Open Hana.dmg and drag Hana to Applications.

  2. Add your key and resume

Paste your DeepSeek API key, import your resume (PDF, text, or Markdown), and create a profile.

  3. Join your call

Press ⌥⌘L to start listening in Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any app that plays audio.

  4. Ask with a hotkey

    ⌥⌘A answer · ⌥⌘S screenshot · ⌥⌘F follow-ups · ⌥⌘N ninja mode.

Installing on macOS

Hana requires macOS Sonoma 14.2 or later on an Apple silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, M4 or later).

  1. Download Hana.dmg and open it.
  2. Drag Hana onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open Hana. If macOS says it can't be opened, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Builds are not notarized yet, so this is needed once.
  4. Allow Microphone and System Audio Recording when asked. The first English session downloads the speech model (about 600 MB) once.

Every download is the latest build.

Private by design

Audio never leaves your Mac: transcription is on-device. Meeting audio comes from a Core Audio tap, not a screen capture. Hana's own windows are excluded from screen sharing and screen recordings. Your API key, resume, profiles, and transcripts are stored locally in your user folder. Only the text needed for an answer is sent to DeepSeek with your own key.

Frequently asked questions

What is Hana?

Hana is a native macOS app that listens to your call, builds a live transcript, and uses AI to answer interview questions from your resume, suggest follow-ups, explain concepts, and solve screenshots of coding problems or quizzes.

Is Hana free?

Yes. Hana is a free download. AI answers use your own DeepSeek API key, so you only pay DeepSeek for what you use.

Does Hana work on Windows or Linux?

Not yet. Hana currently runs only on macOS 14.2 or later on Apple silicon Macs (M1 or later). Windows and Linux versions are planned.

Which meeting apps does Hana support?

Any app that plays audio on your Mac, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack huddles, and phone calls through your Mac. Hana captures the meeting audio with a Core Audio tap, not a screen recording.

Is transcription done on my Mac?

Yes. English transcription runs on-device with Whisper large-v3-turbo on the Apple Neural Engine, and Vietnamese uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. Only the text you ask about is sent to DeepSeek for answers.

Which languages does Hana support?

English and Vietnamese, chosen separately for the meeting language and the response language, with optional translation of answers and transcript lines.

Why does macOS say Hana can't be opened?

Builds are not notarized yet. After dragging Hana to Applications and opening it once, go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway next to the message about Hana.
